A Trip To The Himalayas

A monkey running freely in the street and people there don't mind.
This is a view from the train. In Kufri, half an hour away from Shimla, we enjoyed the snow.

A view of Himalaya Mountains from the mountaintop.

Indian Fashion

I never had an idea of how an Indian dress looks like until I came here in India. It's a fashion with so much elegance.

A lehenga or saree is never complete without these things:

1. Bangles- a whole lot of it in both hands

2. Necklace- should be heavy, long and shiny

3. Earrings- preferably big ones

4. Anklets- should have one in each foot

And all of these should match to the color of the lehenga or saree that you're wearing plus a heavy make-up.

What I love most to wear is LEHENGA (the one in the photo above). I feel like a princess everytime I'm wearing it. The way it waves when you move. The way it emphasizes a woman's figure.

I also like SAREE but I'm not comfortable in it. I feel like a spring roll ready to be tossed. I can't walk properly and my moves are limited. I salute to Indian women who can really carry it well. Specially those who can dance while wearing it. It's amazing how they can do the moves!

Indian fashion is a unique blend of style and elegance. Even if you're not confident in wearing it, it wouldn't show as the dress glows and shows nothing but a woman's natural beauty.

Slumdog Millionaire: What Made It To Oscars?

The ads of Slumdog Millionaire is everywhere. Curiosity strucked me when it won 8 Oscar awards, so I watched it, wondering why the jurors were hypnotized.

Best Sound Mixing and Best Original Song:
I have nothing against the music. It did deserve the award. I like the choice of background music in every scene. Jai Ho sounds good as well.

Best Original Score: The touch of originality is what hits the Oscar jurors. The combination of fact and fiction.

My Views:
Slumdog hits the worldwide movie industry because of its true story like presentation. But what the casts did not take consideration was if it would affect the reputation of India as a country. The movie shows India's slum areas and other crap stuffs. I think every country has bad stuffs like this. They don't have to show too much of it.

The best thing about this movie is a person can do anything for LOVE. The leading man didn't join the contest to win money but to win the heart of the girl he loves but he ended up having both. Also, this movie shows that experience is really the BEST TEACHER.

I believe movies are like windows of a country. It depicts the physical aspects, the culture and even the attitude of the countrymen. Slumdog emphasized too much of Indian bakwaas (crap). It hits the world with an awareness how Indians are, in general (whether true or not). Other countries don't show crap stuffs of their country because reputation matters to them.
Slumdog gained reputation in the Oscars but it somewhat destroy the country's reputation as one of the civilized and developing Asian country.

India is a country associated with business and technology. But after Slumdog shown worldwide, they associate India as slums which is NOT right. Who's fault is it?
